Course Description:

For many new dental school graduates, their first associate job is their first experience in the real world. Dental school teaches how to pass boards, but navigating the real world after graduation involves much more. When it comes to finances, lost opportunity is not easily recoverable. With dentists starting their professional careers later than many of their undergraduate peers, losses that come with trial and error more easily compound. By learning about finances associated with a dental career early on, dentists can ensure they are more likely to meet key career milestones they desire.

Learning Goals:

• Understand the importance of early financial planning.

• Identify career milestones to consider.

• Obtain foundation to set personal financial goals

Learning Objectives:

• Set personal financial goals ranging from first job to retirement.

• Make a plan that enables meeting desired career milestones and timely retirement.

The New York State constituent of the Academy of General Dentistry is an approved program provider.  The sponsor’s formal CDE programs are acceptable by the AGD for Fellowship and Mastership and membership maintenance credit.  This course is also acceptable for MCE Licensing Maintenance.  The current term of approval extends from 01/01/26 to 12/31/29.  AGD Code #219318.
