- Increase Awareness and Understanding of the Special Needs population

- Enhance participants' clinical skills in adapting dental procedures to meet the specific needs of patients with various special needs conditions.

- Introduce evidence-based approaches for effective communication and behavior management during dental procedures for special needs patients.

- Provide insights on creating a welcoming and sensory-friendly dental environment to ensure a positive experience for special needs patients.

- Promote collaboration between dental professionals and other healthcare providers, educators, and caregivers to deliver comprehensive care for special needs patients.

- Evaluate and Implement Best Practices

 

By achieving these goals and objectives, the workshop aims to contribute to a more inclusive and compassionate approach to dental care, ensuring that individuals with special needs receive the attention and support necessary for maintaining optimal oral health.

· Discuss challenges faced during treatment and propose solutions based on best practices and evidence-based approaches.

· Participants will experience simulated scenarios with patients with different special needs.

· Allow participants to practice communication, examination, and treatment techniques in a controlled environment.

Hands-On Adaptation Techniques:

· Hands-on training on adapting dental tools and equipment to accommodate patients with special needs.

· Allow participants to practice modifying instruments for better accessibility and comfort.

Sensory-Friendly Environment Design:
