Course Goals:

This course provides a comprehensive, case-based approach to one of the most critical challenges in clinical practice. Participants will learn how to systematically evaluate periodontal prognosis using diagnostic parameters, risk assessment, and the 2017 classification system. Through carefully curated cases—attendees will explore when teeth can be predictably maintained with regenerative and multidisciplinary therapies, and when extraction offers a more favorable long-term outcome. The program also examines decision-making around implant therapy, socket preservation, and full-mouth rehabilitation. Emphasis is placed on clinical reasoning, treatment sequencing, and patient-centered care. Designed for general dentists and specialists alike, this seminar delivers practical, evidence-based insights that can be immediately applied to everyday practice to improve treatment outcomes and long-term stability.

Cut, Contour & Close: A Hands-On Periodontal Surgical Workshop

This hands-on workshop is designed for experienced general dentists seeking to expand their periodontal surgical skills. Using pig-jaw models, participants will practice flap design and reflection, crown lengthening, regenerative techniques, and periodontal suturing. Emphasis will be placed on clinical decision-making, surgical technique, and predictable wound closure.

Participants will work through realistic periodontal cases and apply treatment-planning principles directly to the surgical model.

Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to:

  • Plan appropriate periodontal surgical procedures.
  • Perform basic flap and osseous surgical techniques.
  • Apply regenerative materials and membrane concepts.
  • Practice advanced periodontal suturing and primary closure.
  • Recognize cases appropriate for periodontal referral.

Course Fee: Includes hands-on materials and full breakfast and lunch on Sunday, Janauary 24.
